  fd2257h smart motor driver with embedded hall sensor this datasheet contains new product information. f eeling technology reserves the rights to modify the product specification without notice. no liability is assumed as a result of the use of t his product. no rights under any patent accompany t he sales of the product. rev1.1 june. 12, 2009 p.1 feeling technology features  motor driver with high sensitivity hall-effect sen sor  h-bridge mos driver  lock-shutdown protection & auto-restart function  soft-switch phase-switching technique to reduce vibration and acoustic noise  thermal shutdown protection(tsd)  available in sip-4l package  for 12v or 24v dc motor / fan systems general description fd2257h is a single-phase full wave motor driver wi th embedded hall-effect sensor ic. it integrates a h-bridge mos driver, a high sensitivity hall-effect sensor, an event timer for rotor locked in sip-4l package, which make the motors pcbs(printed circuit boards) design easy an d fabricate the high efficiency and high voltage dc motors or fans as simply as possible. for safety, lock-shutdown function would turn the i cs internal drivers off avoiding over-heat when th e rotor is locked, and ic will try to re-start the rotors tor que after the time of these drivers shutdown. thermal-shutdown protection (tsd) ensures the inter nal drivers of ic are operating under a safe operat ing temperature range. all the protection mechanisms mentioned above combi ne to provide a complete protecting scenario in the motor system and avoid any possible damages and guarantee under a correct and safe operation. block diagram figure.1 bias generator h-bridge mos driver oscillator hall plate reset power on digital control logic (event timer) chopper amplifier halogen free
